The Photo Protector is an intensive UV-protecting, repairing, thin and very quickly absorbed emulsion for immediate use after chemical and fruit acid peels. It was specially developed to protect sensitive areas of skin with damaged epidermal integrity from sunlight, provide intensive care and promote the healing process of the skin barrier.

Protection against UVA and UVB rays is extremely important after ablative treatment. The formulation requirements cannot be compared with those of conventional sun cream. By removing the upper cell layers of the horny layer, the skin barrier is initially weakened. UV-Radiation can now very easily lead to undesirable side effects such as Hyperpigmentation, sunburn, skin irritation or Peel-off effects. Last but not least, the Peeling treatment is intended to provoke controlled skin renewal through regenerative wound healing, whereas intensive and unprotected sunbathing potentially inhibits collagen formation and skin renewal.

To perfect UV protection after the fruit acid peel, we use a combination of different organic UVB and UVA filters, which are inherently photostable, hormonally ineffective and have low allergenic properties. Compared to mineral filters, organic filters offer fewer dermatological disadvantages and convert UV rays directly into heat on the skin. In particular, we do not use nano-sized titanium dioxide and octocrylene for sun protection after fruit acid treatment, as these can potentially endanger the organism or break down into harmful substances such as benzophenone. For hygienic reasons, the Photo Protector is applied as Spray.

INCIs

We rely on a range of synthetic and organic UV filters, such as ethylhexyl triazone or ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, which absorb UV-A rays and UV-B rays from around 280 to 320 nm. All in all, we obtain a combination of highly effective filters that protect both the skin from UV damage and the product itself from the effects of light.

The extract of the lotus flower seed contains numerous flavonoids and alkaloids and has proven itself as an antioxidant. The exact ingredients act as free radical scavengers and protect the product itself from microbial spoilage.

Tocopherol (vitamin E) is an antioxidant with lipophilic properties. It protects the skin's cell membranes from free radicals and provides the necessary moisture. Especially after demanding treatments, Vitamin E helps stressed skin to regenerate.

Feverfew has been a well-known medicinal herb for over 2000 years and, as an extract, is a nourishing component in sun cream. The "false camomile" helps to rebalance the skin and has a positive effect on the reduction of redness and irritation.

C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is a lipid of synthetic origin which is considered to be recommended. We use it as an antimicrobial component in our sun cream to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. It also has a moisturising and skin-caring effect.
